Fashion Friday | Let’s Talk Overalls

They’re back, and they’re freaking adorable. If you’ve read some of my other posts, you are already familiar with my absolute love of overalls and my excitement that they are back in fashion. So, let’s check out how the cool kids are wearing their overalls in today’s episode of

Fashion Friday | Overalls

1. Wear it with a crop top. K, so we all know Taylor Swift is an icon, and a force to be reckoned with, so of course, her style is like gospel. Don’t get me wrong, I am not caught up on all the recent Minaj/Swift banter, the belly button in question, or the insane obsession with #squadgoals, but I do like her style. While I love fashion, oh so much, I try to stay out of the gossip. So, check out these cute button down black Fire overalls.

2. Wear them by themselves! Hanneli Mustaparta sports some skin tight overalls by Le High, and chooses bra over shirt. Because the sides come up so high, this is totally acceptable. Plus the flares are super adorbs. She’s like a hot coal miner in upgraded Dungarees, lol.

3. Casj it out (you read that, right, right?). Wear a screen tee, or over-sized solid tee under it with some sneakers, and you look super cool, without looking like you put much effort into it. It’s all about the accessories to spruce this up, though. Don’t forget a fetch crossbody and some super cool sunnies to make your look appear super relaxed, yet so well put together! Check out how fashion and style blogger, Lizzy Van Der Ligt, styles her overalls without looking frumpy.

4. Distressed. We are in full swing of Festival Season, so what better way to rock your hipster meets boho meets the ’90’s, than by trending with a pair of distressed overalls, some Birks, and a tank? Love this look that Cressida Bonas is wearing at the Glastonbury Festival. Also, is that a funnel cake?

and last but not least 5. Dressing it up. Go the other way with those overalls, by pairing it with a nice silk button up blouse and a pair of heels. Roll up the pant legs, or wear ’em skinny and tight at the ankle, and you’re ready to rock the work week. Check out fashion blogger Sandra Semburg (A Love is Blind) and her work appropriate version of the overall.
