Paris is wrapping up the Haute Couture Fashion Week today, and as I scroll through instagram, I am having serious #photographersenvy of all those that attended. Seriously, the Dior stage alone, looked like a divine palace decked out in Swarovski crystals. So, let’s check out my faves from Paris this week.
Fashion Friday | Highlights from Paris Fashion Week
Of course we have to start with the spectacular Dior show. Check out the venue. ::drool:: (The gowns were absolutely stunning, too!)
And, Chanel put on quite the elaborate casino stage, and I will say it, since everyone else on the interwebs has said it… The House Always Wins. Mr. Lagerfeld, you’ve done it again. So gorgeous.
This was a big deal for John Galliano, too, as this was his first Haute Couture show since his time at Dior. So, what better way to premier your work than by shocking the audience. The show included 3 male models, which is kinda a big deal, since Haute Couture is traditionally swimming in females, while Men’s Fashion Week (coming next week!) is usually reserved for the dudes. Always trying to push the fashion envelope, I think he nailed it.
The girliest of girly showed up on the Giambattista Valli runway. Lots of ruffles, chiffon, silk and flowers make for swoon-worthy ball gowns.
And last but not least… Because WOW.
Rami Kadi wowed the crowd with some bug dresses. Oh yeah, these couture dresses are decked out in bug applique. But could it get even better? Could it? (Please note the sarcasm in my font, here.) Oh, yes it can. Because these suckers are glow.in.the.dark. Uh-huh. Yeah, glow in the dark. Mic.Drop.
